She noted that indifference can be a prevailing character trait, in isolated cases it is a temporary condition, in total cases it is a symptom of an incipient mental disorder and indicates a number of somatic diseases. Parents are trying to temper their children, forbid expressing emotions, instilling moral standards. Sometimes they are so addicted to rigor that there are more side effects than positive ones.
