A restrained person can be envied: emotions do not interfere with his work, personal life, financial affairs. It is easier for him to build relationships with people, and from the outside such a person looks successful and an example to follow. But is it really good to keep your soul in “bridle” if passions boil in it and “devils” are found? How can this end for a person – will he still temper his spirit or become a psychiatrist’s patient? These questions were answered in an exclusive interview with we by constellation psychologist and neurologist Ersteya Days.
She noted that indifference can be a prevailing character trait, in isolated cases it is a temporary condition, in total cases it is a symptom of an incipient mental disorder and indicates a number of somatic diseases. It is especially worth worrying about the consequences when a person shows indifference to himself: what to eat, what to wear, where and by whom to work, where to go.
“In such a situation, it is no longer possible to justify the state that has arisen by mental exhaustion or trauma, selfishness or the distribution of forces only according to the main tasks,” — said the doctor.
Ultimately, such indifference leads to degradation. And the reasons can be transferred stresses, systematic tensions. And often all this comes from childhood, according to the expert. Parents are trying to temper their children, forbid expressing emotions, instilling moral standards. Sometimes they are so addicted to rigor that there are more side effects than positive ones.the interlocutor emphasized.
Not only the psyche suffers, but also the physical health of a person. Studies prove that restrained, indifferent people have problems with the gastrointestinal tract, the cardiovascular system.
“In a stressful situation, cortisol, adrenaline, thyroxine are released. It is he who causes heart attacks, strokes, deterioration of the blood supply to the internal organs in children who do not know how to control their emotions, there are long-term depressive states.says the neurologist.
